On Sunday, Benjamin Netanyahu was replaced as Israel’s prime minister after leading the country for 12 straight years. New Prime Minister Naftali Bennett heads a broad-based coalition made up of left-wing progressives, hardcore settlement supporters, and an Islamist party — to name just a few of the political groups making up the most diverse government in Israeli history.

To discuss what this watershed moment means for the future of the country, Times of Israel editor David Horovitz and our senior analysts come together for a live Behind the Headlines webinar this Thursday, June 17, exclusively for Times of Israel Community members.

ToI Community members can access the event, and are also invited to pose their own questions for our panelists ahead of time. If you haven’t yet joined the ToI Community, sign up to do so here and you’ll automatically receive a link to submit your query on Wednesday.

Now leading the opposition, Netanyahu has vowed to “fight daily against this terrible, dangerous left-wing government in order to topple it,” adding that “with God’s help, it will happen a lot earlier than you think.”

Will the new government last? Can it counter the unabated Iranian threat? What will a government full of ideological opposites be able to accomplish? Will Israel soon be heading to yet another election?

Our panelists — Horovitz, political correspondent Tal Schneider and political analyst Haviv Rettig-Gur — will give their takes on Israel’s foreign and domestic position, as the country continues to deal with some of its most tumultuous events in recent memory.

Community members are invited to submit questions prior to the live online event via our online form, and may also do so in real-time as part of the ongoing discussion.

Join ToI Community now for the opportunity to ask your own questions of our senior journalists, who will provide unique insight into the current crisis.

The live webinar will broadcast on Thursday, June 17, at 7 p.m. Israel Daylight Time (12 p.m. EDT, 9 a.m. PDT). Times of Israel Community members will receive an email with a link to the live conversation.
