Israel’s Keshet International production company announced Tuesday that it will develop a pair of ancient history documentary series starring award-winning British historian and presenter Bettany Hughes.

In the “Seven Wonders of the Ancient World,” Hughes will follow in the footsteps of the very first tourists, creating a road trip that digitally reconstructs the antiquity structures in the very spot where the wonders once stood.

“The Vikings” will look at the warriors of ancient times, with Hughes taking viewers on a 3,000-mile journey to see where the Vikings raided and traded, including in Sweden, Britain, Estonia and Turkey.

Keshet International managing director Kelly Wright said in a statement that the shows will be co-developed with Hughes’s SandStone Global production company, as part of the firm’s effort to create a pipeline of content for international buyers.

It was unclear, though, when either show will eventually air.
