Around 100,000 people are believed to be taking part in a rally in Tel Aviv calling for the return of all the hostages in Gaza, as the second batch, supposed to be released this afternoon, is delayed.

Orna and Ronen Neutra, the parents of Omer Neutra, a lone soldier abducted on October 7, say he was born one month after September 11, 2001. Omer was raised in a Hebrew-speaking home by Israeli parents in Long Island, New York, and decided to join the IDF after high school.

“It wasn’t easy but there is such a support system for lone soldiers here,” says Orna. “We last spoke to him Friday afternoon [on October 6], he said it would be a calm Shabbat. We love you, Omer, and we will not rest until they bring you home now.”
