4-year-old Beit Shemesh stabbing victim in moderate, stable condition

Reporter at The Times of Israel

The 4-year-old who was stabbed along with another young child in Beit Shemesh yesterday is in moderate, stable condition after undergoing surgery, Hadassah Medical Center says in a statement.

Prof. Dan Arbel, director of the Department of Pediatric Surgery, who operated on the child, reports that he is recovering to “his doctors’ satisfaction, with his family by his side.”

The boys were stabbed in an apartment in the central Israeli city and taken to Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital. The other child, 7, was declared dead after arriving at the hospital.

The incident is not being treated as an act of terror. A suspect, reportedly a neighbor, has been arrested and is thought to be mentally unstable.
