After 5-year hiatus, EU and Israel reconvene high-level forum
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleIsrael and the European Union are to reconvene the EU-Israel Association Council, a high-level bilateral forum on the ministerial level, in late February, the two sides confirmed today.
The last such meeting took place in 2012.
“This is an extremely positive development, which will enable Israel and the EU to deepen their relations on a wide array of issues,” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Emmanuel Nahshon tells The Times of Israel.
At the talks, to be held on February 28 in Brussels, the EU will be represented by its foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini. Regional Cooperation Minister Tzachi Hanegbi will represent the Israeli side.
