All construction frozen in East Jerusalem — report

The Jerusalem municipality has frozen all construction in the city’s eastern areas — in both Jewish and Arab neighborhoods, Army Radio reports.

The report says City Hall initially decided to freeze construction in the Jewish Ramat Shlomo neighborhood ahead of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s upcoming visit to Washington, but then extended the decision to Arab housing as well so as not to appear to discriminate against Jewish residents of East Jerusalem.
