American Jew arrested for praying on Temple Mount

A Jewish American tourist is arrested on Temple Mount for praying, an act that is banned under the fragile status quo at the flashpoint Jerusalem holy site.

The man is detained by Israeli police officers after he is overhead quoting from Psalms in Hebrew as part of a longer biblical commentary in English, Jewishpress.com reports. When his companions argue that he is not praying, a police officer reportedly says: “On the Temple Mount I decide what’s prayer.”
