Beersheba gay parade route changed over threats
The High Court of Justice rules the Beersheba gay pride parade, scheduled for Thursday, may not run through the main street in the southern city due to security fears.
The court adopts police recommendations to steer the march away from the city center due to threats of violence against the participants.
Police had told the court they would not be able to sufficiently secure all parade participants, warned that the threats were credible, and urged an alternate route.
