Beersheba hospital moves patients to reinforced wards

Judah Ari Gross is The Times of Israel's religions and Diaspora affairs correspondent.

Beersheba’s Soroka Medical Center has begun moving patients to fortified wards, in light of the ongoing rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip, the hospital says.

A Soroka spokesperson says the hospital has also opened an emergency command center and has put all critical staff on stand-by.

Ashkelon’s Barzilai Medical Center has similarly begun operating on an emergency basis, moving premature babies to a special underground ward and canceling all non-critical procedures.
