Israeli authorities have cleared out a number of structures built without proper permits in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Jabel Mukaber, the city says.
The move comes days after the city placed a security cordon around the neighborhood following a deadly truck-ramming attack carried out by a driver from there.

Eight temporary buildings being used as part of a building supplies storehouse on a five-dunam plot were removed or demolished Wednesday, the city says.
A day earlier, five buildings used as stables were demolished, the city says. The stables were located near the family home of Fadi al-Qunbar, the driver in the deadly truck attack.
On Tuesday, authorities torn down 11 homes in the city of Qalansawe, sparking protests and a strike in the Arab community, which says the state refuses to grant Arab building proper permits, necessitating illegal building.
