Cairo talks unlikely to secure deal — minister

Internal Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch says he does not anticipate the Cairo negotiations will produce a long-term deal.

“There is a slim chance an agreement [will be reached], but to my understanding after 72 hours the fire will resume and we will have to turn to the next stage, which is the decisive stage,” he tells Ynet, in an apparent reference to toppling Hamas by force.

Aharonovitch adds that it would take “a magician” to secure a lasting arrangement.
