Brig. Gen. Roman Gofman, the commander of the Tzeelim training base, was wounded during clashes with Hamas terrorists near Sderot yesterday.

The Israel Defense Forces says Gofman, who lives in Ashdod, set out for the Gaza border upon receiving reports of Hamas’s attack on southern Israel.

He clashed with Palestinian terrorists in Sderot, and was wounded. The military says he is in a stable condition.

Also directly fighting on the Gaza border yesterday was Maj. Gen. David Zini, the head of the IDF Training Command and General Staff Corps.

Footage shows Zini and a group of soldiers near the Black Arrow memorial site on the border, surrounded by the bodies of dozens of Palestinian terrorists following an intense battle.
