Edelstein to look into MKs’ request to visit Temple Mount

Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein says he intends to examine a request by Muslim MKs to pray at the flashpoint Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

Lawmakers are currently banned from visiting the sensitive site, which is holy to both Jews and Muslims.

Edelstein says he will consult on the matter with the police and the Knesset sergeant-at-arms, Haaretz reports.

Several Muslim lawmakers have said that they will visit the Mount during Ramadan, which begins next week.
