Erdogan says no Europeans will be safe

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says that Europeans across the world will not be able to walk safely on the streets if they kept up their current attitude, Reuters reports

“If Europe continues this way, no European in any part of the world can walk safely on the streets. We, as Turkey, call on Europe to respect human rights and democracy,” Erdogan said at event for local journalists in Ankara, according to Reuters.

Turkey is in the midst of a bitter confrontation with Germany and the Netherlands, who are refusing to allow Turkish politicians to campaign on their soil for an upcoming referendum to expand the power of the president.
