Former Jenin governor arrested for ‘advanced weapons’ trade

The Shin Bet security service confirms that former senior Palestinian Authority official Talal Dweikat was arrested early this morning.

According to the Shin Bet, Dweikat is suspected of taking part in “the advanced weapons trade.”

He was arrested in his home in Nablus as part of a series of overnight raids in the West Bank.

Dweikat, who served as governor of Jenin, was also a top Palestinian intelligence officer.
