German secret service overseer warns of Iranian retaliation in Europe
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleBERLIN — Retaliatory measures, including by Iranian sleeper cells in Europe, cannot be ruled out after US and Israeli strikes killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the head of Germany’s parliamentary control panel for the secret services says.
“The Iranian regime has repeatedly demonstrated in the past that it carries out its terror beyond its own borders,” Marc Henrichmann tells the Sueddeutsche Zeitung paper.
“Retaliatory measures, including by Iranian sleeper cells in Europe, cannot be ruled out,” he adds, saying protection measures must be adapted if needed.
