Health Ministry holds exercise for earthquake scenario

The Health Ministry says it conducted a joint exercise with the National Emergency Management Authority today to simulate an earthquake scenario.
The simulation of an extreme scenario included tens of thousands of casualties, damage to infrastructure and transportation routes, power outages, and other challenges that could affect the continuity of the healthcare system’s operations.
“Preparing for an earthquake is one of the most complex challenges facing the healthcare system,” says the ministry’s Director General Moshe Bar Siman Tov. “Our responsibility is to prepare in advance to ensure that even in the most severe scenarios, we can continue to save lives and provide continuous, high-quality medical care.”
The exercise will continue tomorrow.
