Hebrew reports claim two Arab states plotting to sign diplomatic deals with Israel to trick it as they plan for war

Israel suspects that two Arab states are plotting to attack Israel by lulling it into a false sense of security through fake diplomatic agreements, according to two separate reports published in the past day by the Kan public broadcaster and Channel 12.

According to the reports, the two countries — neither of which is identified by name — would sign diplomatic agreements with Israel to “anesthetize” the Jewish state and remove any unwanted scrutiny.

They would then be free to plan a major attack on Israel and launch it at a time of their choosing, having pulled the wool over Jerusalem’s eyes, the reports claim.

According to Channel 12, officials from one of the Arab states approached their counterparts in the other about the idea and encouraged it to join forces.

The alleged plot appears to be modeled on the October 7, 2023, attack, the Kan public broadcaster reports, but would be on an even larger scale. Hamas, led by Yahya Sinwar, launched the deadly invasion after years of working to fool Israel into thinking it no longer desired armed conflict.

The reports come at a time when US President Donald Trump is openly pushing for more countries in the region to normalize relations with Israel by entering the Abraham Accords, first signed by the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain in 2020.
