Home Front Command to begin early warnings for rocket fire from Lebanon – report

The Home Front Command is set to begin issuing advance alerts ahead of incoming rocket fire from Hezbollah in Lebanon, with the new warning system expected to go into effect in the coming days, Channel 12 reports.

According to the report, the alerts will provide civilians with additional time to prepare before sirens sound, ranging from just a few extra seconds in communities along the northern border to as much as two minutes in more distant areas of the country.

The early warning system will reportedly apply only to rocket fire and not to drone attacks.

A similar system was developed during the 12-day war with Iran in June 2025, when the Home Front Command began issuing advance alerts of a few minutes before ballistic missile attacks, allowing civilians additional time to reach shelters ahead of sirens.
