Emergency personnel at the scene of a deadly Iranian missile strike in Beit Shemesh, Israel, March 1, 2026 (United Hatzalah)
The IDF says the failure to intercept the Iranian ballistic missile that struck Beit Shemesh, killing four and injuring some 20, is under further investigation.
The military says that the Home Front Command’s early warning system functioned as intended and was activated in Bet Shemesh ahead of the actual sirens, which also sounded.
The chief of the Home Front Command, Maj. Gen. Shai Klepper, is also heading to the scene, the army adds.
