A Hamas sniper who “posed an immediate threat” to Israeli troops in the northern Gaza Strip was targeted a short while ago, the military says.

The IDF says the terror operative was spotted by troops of the 99th Division near the “Yellow Line.”

“Immediately after the identification, the troops fired toward [the operative] to remove the threat,” the IDF says, adding that a “hit was identified.”

Last week, the military tightened its policy for “targeted elimination” strikes — as opposed to strikes against immediate threats — in the Gaza Strip.
