IDF targets 8 buildings in Strip
The IDF launched airstrikes on 8 buildings in the Gaza Strip which are used as command headquarters for terrorists, an army spokesperson says. According to Army Radio, one of the buildings had been targeted on Thursday as well.
Since the beginning of Operation Protective Edge, 103 Palestinians were killed in IDF strikes and 700 were injured. The Egyptian government authorized the opening of the Rafah border crossing in order to transfer severely wounded Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to Egypt for emergency treatment.
A senior IDF official says 2,000 rockets and mortar shells were destroyed in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the operation.
According to army intelligence, Hamas possessed 6,000 rockets and mortars before the operation began, Ynet reports.
