Iran president to make first Europe visit in decade
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleHassan Rouhani is to visit Italy and France from Saturday, becoming the first Iranian president to travel to Europe for a decade, state news agency IRNA reports.
It says the tour, which follows the July 14 nuclear accord between the Islamic republic and world powers, will take the president for official talks in Italy before he travels on to France on November 16-17.
Parviz Esmaili of the president’s office, quoted by IRNA, says Rouhani will also meet Pope Francis while in Italy.
Several ministers are to accompany the president.
