Israeli Arabs mark Land Day with demonstrations
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleIsraeli Arabs across the country staged demonstrations for Land Day, which commemorates the 1976 decision by the first Rabin government to expropriate some 5,000 acres of land from Arab towns in the Galilee.
The central event took place in the unrecognized Bedouin village of Umm al-Hiran, which the government is planning to remove and replace with a Jewish town.
