Israeli official: Discussions about Netanyahu WH visit have begun, but won’t happen before Independence Day

Discussions have begun about a visit by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House to meet with US President Donald Trump and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, an Israeli official tells The Times of Israel.
The visit won’t happen before Israel’s Independence Day, says the official, which takes place on Wednesday.
Moments after announcing the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah yesterday, Trump said he would be inviting Netanyahu and Aoun to the White House “for the first meaningful talks between Israel and Lebanon since 1983.”
Trump later said the meeting would likely be held in the next week or two.
