May pledges ‘bold, new, positive’ UK role outside EU

New Prime Minister Theresa May pledges to forge a “bold, new, positive” role for Britain outside the EU, as she takes office on Wednesday.

“Following the referendum, we face a time of great national change and I know, because we are Great Britain, we will rise to the challenge,” she says outside the premier’s Downing Street office, referring to the June 23 vote to quit the EU.

“As we leave the European Union, we will forge a bold, new, positive role for ourselves in the world.”
