Ministers, coalition MKs slam AG for decision to indict PM aide Urich over Bild leaks

Members of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet and coalition attack Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara over her decision to indict senior prime ministerial adviser Jonatan Urich, accusing her of engaging in politically motivated persecution of the right.
“I have known Jonatan Urich for many years. He always acts with dedication and professionalism,” tweets Transportation Minister Miri Regev. “Attributing to him an intention to harm state security is baseless and completely detached from reality. There is no logical explanation for this claim other than a persecution against the right, against the prime minister and against the members of his office. In the end, the truth will prevail!”
Gali Baharav-Miara “is maliciously using the judicial system as a weapon against one side of the political map: the side that rightfully fired her, and the side that will fix the rot that has spread throughout the legal system,” declares Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana.
Urich will be indicted on charges of transmitting classified information with the intention of harming state security, possession of classified information, and destruction of evidence, the AG’s office announced this morning.
