Municipal spending comes under fire from State Comptroller

The State Comptroller’s report is out, and municipal authorities are under fire for wasteful and extravagant contracts with outside consultants.

Among the most extraordinary mentioned in the report were grass consultants hired by the Herzliya municipality, kitchen planners in Ashdod, and table tennis club operators in Givatayim.

The six municipalities inspected by the watchdog’s office spent tens of millions of shekels on consultants which were “contrary to the rules of good governance and with opaque and unequal procedures.”
