Netanyahu accuses Lapid, Liberman of hatching ‘back-alley deal’
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleNetanyahu is alleging that Yisrael Beytenu leader Avigdor Liberman, Blue and White’s Yair Lapid, and maybe even some right-wing politicians are planning a “back-alley deal,” ostensibly to remove him from power.
He makes the accusation while speaking to party activists in Eilat, in comments carried by the Ynet news site.
“They want to ruin our democracy, because they have a back-alley deal. What is the deal? Liberman, others, they have a back-alley deal. I wouldn’t be surprised if some on the right are also [in on it],” says Netanyahu, without elaborating.
Lapid responds by taunting the prime minister in a tweet: “Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean we aren’t out to get you.”
