Likud leader Benjamin Netanyahu arrives at the President’s Residence in Jerusalem in advance of receiving the mandate to form Israel’s 37th government from President Isaac Herzog.

Netanyahu’s right-wing and religious bloc won 64 of the Knesset’s 120 seats in the November 1 election, clearing its path back to power after 19 months in the opposition.

Negotiations are already underway to form the Likud-led government, which is poised to include the far-right Religious Zionism-Otzma Yehudit alliance, as well as Haredi parties Shas and United Torah Judaism.
