Netanyahu condemns Baratz remarks on Rivlin, Obama
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GooglePrime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemns past remarks by Ran Baratz, who was tapped Wednesday as media adviser and head of public diplomacy and media in the PMO.
“I read for the first time the statements published by Dr. Ran Baratz online, including about the president, the US president and public officials in Israel and the United States,” Netanyahu writes.
“They are unworthy and do not reflect my views nor government policy,” the prime minister adds.
“Dr. Baratz apologized for his words, sought to clarify them in a meeting with me, and we agreed to meet upon my return to Israel.”
Earlier this year, Baratz, 42, accused US President Barack Obama of anti-Semitism. He also suggested that President Rivlin was an insignificant personage.
