No date set yet for US-Iran talks, but efforts ongoing — White House

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt says no date has been set yet for negotiations with the US and Iran, but efforts are ongoing in order to put something on the calendar.

US President Donald Trump said yesterday that the US and Iran would meet next week, while noting that a nuclear deal would not be necessary because Tehran’s nuclear program had been completely destroyed in the Sunday US strikes.

US officials are saying that the goal of the meetings with Iran is to secure broader regional peace, while stressing that they are willing to accept an Iranian civil nuclear program that is prevented from any enrichment of uranium.
