Police confirm Manchester synagogue attacker was shot and killed on the scene

British police confirm that the man who attacked a Manchester synagogue earlier today was shot dead on the scene.
There had been a delay in confirming that the suspect had been killed, apparently amid concerns that he was carrying a bomb. It remains unclear if the man was carrying an explosive device.
Police say there is no ongoing risk to the public.
Two people were killed and three seriously injured in the attack.
