Publishing platform Substack is making money from newsletters that promote far-right ideologies and antisemitism, The Guardian reports.
The report says that one of the newsletters — NatSocToday — with 2,800 subscribers, features a swastika as its profile picture and is thought to have been created by a US far-right activist.
The profile charges $80 per year for a subscription, but many of the posts are available for free, The Guardian says.
Substack takes around 10 percent of revenue generated by profiles.
The Guardian says that a recent post by NatSocToday suggested Jews were responsible for World War II and praised Nazi leader Adolf Hitler as “one of the greatest men of all time.”
The report says that within two hours of subscribing to NatSocToday, Substack’s algorithm suggested 21 other profiles with similar content.
The report says that many other newsletters produce posts with antisemitic content and Holocaust denial.
Substack was approached for comment by the newspaper but did not respond.
