Rocket intercepted by Iron Dome near Haifa
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleOne rocket intercepted over Hadera, south of Haifa, after a salvo of projectiles was fired from the Gaza Strip in the direction of northern Israel, triggering sirens in Haifa, Zichron Yaakov and Atlit.
Residents in the north report hearing several booms indicating possible additional interceptions.
The siren in Haifa sounded again for the first time since the Second Lebanon War in 2006, in which, over the course of 34 days, the city and other northern regions were subjected to daily rocket fire from Hezbollah.
Hamas confirms it fired an R160 rocket in the direction of Haifa.
