Security official: Rocket fire on north was expected
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleAn Upper Galilee Regional Council security official says the rockets that fell in the Metulla-Kiryat Shmona area on Friday are not unexpected.
“This was a possible scenario that the council and residents have been preparing for, but we didn’t have a specific warning ahead of time,” according to Asaf Lengleven.
“As of now, the army’s instructions are simply to continue life as normal,” he tells the Ynet news site.
Hundreds of residents from the periphery of Gaza are being hosted in kibbutzim and towns on the northern border.
