Sirens in northern border communities warn of suspected drone attack

Sirens warn of a suspected drone attack in communities close to the northern border.

Last night, two IDF soldiers were lightly wounded and a building was damaged by a rocket impact in the northern city of Kiryat Shmona as Hezbollah’s attacks on Israel continue.

Since October 8, Hezbollah-led forces have attacked Israeli communities and military posts along the border on a near-daily basis, with the group saying it is doing so to support Gaza amid the war there, leading tens of thousands of Israelis to be displaced from their homes. Israel has regularly warned it is ready to go to war if need be to secure its northern border.

So far, the skirmishes on the border have resulted in 10 civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of 15 IDF soldiers and reservists. Huge amounts of damage have been done to border communities and the surrounding areas.

Hezbollah has named 360 members who have been killed by Israel during the ongoing skirmishes, mostly in Lebanon, but some also in Syria. In Lebanon, another 65 operatives from other terror groups, a Lebanese soldier, and dozens of civilians have been killed. Tens of thousands have also fled their homes in southern Lebanon.
