Strike at West Bank administrative body called off after wage deal reached
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleEmployees of the Civil Administration, which runs daily affairs in the West Bank, have returned to working in full capacity after reaching an agreement with the Finance Ministry to increase their wages.
The Defense Ministry body began massive cutbacks in its activities Sunday in protest of what workers argued was the Finance Ministry’s refusal to meet basic demands for improvements to their employment conditions.
Among the over 20 areas of activity affected by the strike would have been the advancement of tenders for thousands of homes beyond the Green Line, the granting of work and entry permits for Palestinians into Israel and the West Bank, and the clearing of the Bedouin village of Khan al-Ahmar, which is slated for demolition.
