Tillerson, Putin meet in the Kremlin
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleA Kremlin spokesperson says Russian President Vladimir Putin is meeting with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.
The meeting comes amid an ongoing spat between the two countries over the Syrian civil war, specifically Syrian President Bashar Assad’s apparent use of chemical weapons against civilians.
Last week, the US fired 59 cruise missiles at a Syrian air base in response to the alleged sarin gas attack. Russia denounced the American strike and indicated earlier today that it would veto international efforts to censure Assad.
