Trump meets with Zelensky ahead of US president’s sit-down with Netanyahu

US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky are meeting now, ahead of Sen. Lindsey Graham’s funeral, their second sit-down this month.
Trump is welcoming Zelensky to the White House as the Ukrainian leader travels to Washington to honor Graham, whose final act as a public official was visiting Kyiv and securing an agreement on a package of sanctions that seek to punish countries that purchase Russian oil, gas, and other exports.
“Peace needs to be brought closer,” says Zelensky, who walked into the White House this morning. A White House official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to preview a closed meeting, said Trump will focus on the “ongoing peace process” between Russia and Ukraine.
Shortly after wrapping up his meeting with Zelensky, Trump is slated to sit down with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, for a meeting that is also expected to be closed to the press.
