UN human rights investigator says Israel using excessive force

A UN human rights investigator urges Israel to investigate what he called excessive force used by Israel against Palestinians.

Makarim Wibisono, United Nations special rapporteur on human rights in the the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, also calls on Israel to charge, or release, all Palestinian prisoners being held under administrative detention, including children, Reuters reports.

“The upsurge in violence is a grim reminder of the unsustainable human rights situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and the volatile environment it engenders,” he says, according to Reuters.
