Man dies in Bat Yam apartment fire

Paramedics find lifeless, severely burned man; unclear what started blaze

A man was killed Friday in an apartment fire that broke out in the coastal city of Bat Yam.

After the blaze was extinguished, paramedics called to the apartment found the man without any signs of life, declaring him dead at the scene.

He had severe burns, according to the Magen David Adom ambulance service.

The man was said to be around 50 years old, but was not immediately named.

It was not clear what started the fire.
