Infant and man killed, family hurt in car crash near Haifa

Parents of one-year-old baby, 6-year-old daughter all injured in collision between two vehicles; four people also hurt in crash on Route 1

A one-year-old baby and a man in his thirties were killed Friday in a car crash near Haifa. Three family members of the infant — two parents and a six-year-old girl — were injured.

The man who died was driving one vehicle while the family members were in the other.

Of the family, the father, aged around 40 was in serious condition; the mother, a woman in her thirties, and the six-year-old girl were in moderate condition; the infant was initially in critical condition but was declared dead some time later.

Earlier four people were injured moderately-to-seriously in an accident on Route 1 between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

Police were investigating the accidents.
