The body of a man was discovered Wednesday morning in the southern Israel city of Beersheba.

The man, a foreign national, had been stabbed in his upper body.

The suspect in the killing, also a foreign national, surrendered himself after police launched a manhunt in the city.

A paramedic from the Magen David Adom rescue services told Channel 10 news that medics declared the victim dead shortly after arriving at the scene.

“When we arrived, we saw a man aged around 29 lying in the street next to a building, unconscious with signs of violence to his upper body,” he said.

“We performed several medical examinations to determine treatment but he did not show any signs of life and shortly afterward we had to declare his death.”
