A 57-year-old woman and her 25-year-old son were killed in a traffic accident at the Brur Hayil junction in the south of Israel on Sunday.
Medical crews took a third person, who had sustained moderate injuries, to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon. The paramedics had to declare the death of the mother and son, who were found trapped in their car.
The accident occurred when one of the vehicles took a left turn and was hit by an oncoming car.
Police were further examining the circumstances, and “at this moment do not yet know who was responsible for the accident,” Chief Superintendent Ori Marziano told reporters. “According to our data, this is a junction that had no accidents lately, but unfortunately the results were dire,” he said.
