Welcome to Israel, Kevin McCarthy. You can check out any time, but you can never leave.

The speaker of the US House of Representatives was treated to his Knesset counterpart Amir Ohana shredding the Eagles hit “Hotel California” at a reception in the parliament building Sunday night.

Backed up by well-known professional guitarist Kfir Ochaion, Ohana jammed his way through the 1977 earworm to entertain the lawmakers and other dignitaries at the dinner in the Knesset’s Chagall State Hall.

Ohana has made little secret of his six-string noodling, posting several videos online over the past year of him doing various covers, including a rendition of The Scorpions’ “Still Loving You” recorded with Ochaion.

In October, Ohana took the stage in Ashdod for a surprise appearance at a reunion concert for ethnic rock band Sfataim, which, like him, was a product of Moroccan immigrants in the northern Negev.

McCarthy landed in Israel on Sunday — at the head of a group of 20 bipartisan members of Congress — before heading to the Western Wall in Jerusalem. The Republican, who will become only the second US House speaker to address the Knesset plenum on Monday, was greeted at Ben Gurion Airport by Ohana.

McCarthy will hold a press conference on Monday afternoon after a Knesset session marking 75 years since Israel’s independence.
