Two parents have been arrested in Harish, near Haifa, on suspicion of murdering their disabled eight-year-old son, the Hadera Magistrate’s Court allowed media to report on Wednesday.
The alleged murder took place on Monday.
The court imposed a gag order on all other case details at the request of Israel Police.
Police told Haaretz that the father showed up at the police station and confessed to the murder, but that the mother denied involvement in her interrogation.
The publication added that the father’s lawyer told the judge in a hearing to extend the couple’s remand that there was not enough evidence to charge his client.

“The father is in a poor mental state due to the death of his son, and we’re waiting for the completion of the investigation and the determination of the cause of death, which could prove that the suspect was not involved,” the lawyer said.
