Police investigating as Jerusalem girl lightly wounded by apparent errant gun fire
Seven-year-old girl hit by glass shard in her home in Pisgat Zeev neighborhood likely caused by stray bullet fired from nearby village

A seven-year-old girl was lightly wounded in her home in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Pisgat Zeev on Saturday after being hit by flying glass shards apparently caused by an errant bullet fired from a nearby village, police and medics said.
The Magen David Adom ambulance service said the girl had a cut on her head from a flying glass shard and was treated at the site and then taken to the hospital for further evaluation, also suffering from anxiety.
Police said officers were at the scene investigating and that the glass was from a window likely shattered by a stray bullet from a neighboring Palestinian village.
“Suddenly we heard a boom. I thought the children had fallen and it took a few minutes to digest what had happened. My daughter came to hug me, scared, and the whole house was filled with shrapnel,” the girl’s mother, Sima Shema, told the Ynet news site.
The girl, Hadar, was briefly hospitalized at the Hadassah Mount Scopus hospital.
Palestinian media reported that police officers had entered the nearby Shuafat refugee camp, amid a manhunt for the shooter.

Pisgat Ze’ev is just north of the refugee camp in East Jerusalem.
In November, an Israeli girl was critically hurt by apparent errant gunfire in the West Bank settlement of Kiryat Arba.
