Startup investments at your fingertips

Jerusalem-based startup investment platform OurCrowd unveils upgraded mobile app

OurCrowd, the Jerusalem-based startup investment platform, has released an update of its popular mobile app for Android and iOS.

“This puts the best startup investment opportunities literally at your fingertips,” says Michelle Zucker, OurCrowd’s Director of Mobile App Product, who is in charge of the project. “This gives our community of more than 215,000 accredited investors worldwide all the advantages of our investment platform in the palm of their hand, whenever they need it.”

OurCrowd has more than $1.9 billion in commitments and 347 portfolio companies. Accredited investors can join funding rounds for promising high-tech startups selected after a rigorous due diligence process. Individual investments start at just $10,000 for companies and $50,000 for funds.

The enhanced OurCrowd app allows users to receive real-time information on new investment opportunities, check the performance of their current portfolio, receive the latest news on OurCrowd portfolio companies and the startup ecosystem, and review and download key documents and reports.

One new feature is a secure login using biometric recognition to enhance the confidentiality of the material.

An “Opportunities” tab showcases all investment deals currently available on the OurCrowd platform, searchable by category, each with a quick introductory video. Clicking the deal provides an overview, financial data, key highlights, a presentation, key management players, and the reason why OurCrowd decided to invest. Clicking the “Invest” button allows users to carry out transactions safely and securely.

“Tens of thousands of users are looking at investment opportunities on our website. We want them to have the same information and security accessing the OurCrowd platform from their phone,” Zucker says.

In the nine years since OurCrowd was founded, its startups have recorded 59 exits. Several now have stock market listings, including Beyond Meat, Lemonade, Innoviz, and Hub Security. OurCrowd startups have also been the subject of numerous high-profile acquisitions, including JUMP by Uber, BriefCam by Canon, Argus by Continental, Crosswise by Oracle, Replay by Intel, Corephotonics by Samsung, CyberX by Microsoft, and Kenna Security by Cisco.

Participation in OurCrowd opportunities is available only to accredited investors.
