A woman was found dead with stab wounds in a Haifa apartment on Monday, with Magen David Adom paramedics pronouncing her dead at the scene.
In a statement, the Israel Police said officers were gathering evidence from the scene and that patrols were scanning the area for suspects.
The Ynet news site said that police were treating the incident as a homicide.
The MDA statement said the woman was in her 30s, while the police said she was in her 40s.
Ynet quoted MDA paramedic Ahmed Zeidan as saying, “They led us into a residence. The woman was unconscious, suffering severe stab wounds to her body, and without vital signs. Unfortunately, there was nothing to do but pronounce her dead on the spot.”
